According to a report today from VG 24/7, Titanfall developer Respawn will make games for the PlayStation 4 in the future, just not the first in the Electronic Arts game’s series, according to a report today from VG 24/7.
Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella said via Twitter today that though Titanfall won’t ever come to the PS4, as EA sold it as an Microsoft exclusive for Xbox One, but that doesn’t prohibit the developer from ever creating games for the console.
Zampella said “of course” the developer will make games for the PS4, “just not the first Titanfall.”
In another tweet, Zampella said Respawn only recently found out that Titanfall would be a lifetime Microsoft exclusive, not just at launch.
“Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a startup. EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently,” Zampella said.
Titanfall will be due out on March 11, 2014 for PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
In its financial report to investors, EA said it pushed the release of Titanfall into FY 2014 in order to get the cross-gen title into the Xbox One launch window.
