Good news! You will not have to water the outdoor plants this weekend. What’s the bad news? The sports games are under lightning delays, the BBQ will have to be eaten inside, and the music events in town…well you better call before leaving the house tonight. Outdoor events will be iffy at best.

This afternoon it is already raining with a good amount of cloud to ground lightning so DO NOT WALK on the beach, if you can hear it, you are in range of being struck. The rest of the afternoon has a fifty percent chance of more rain, and tonight that chance drops to forty percent. Our high was reached at 91 degrees, and the wind will continue to be out of the south. Our low will be 78 degrees tonight. With that being the summary of our Saturday let us move on to Sunday.

Sunday, well the news of rain gets worse. Sunday has a seventy percent chance of thunderstorms and the potential for periods of heavy rain. Wind will be out of the south drawing more tropical moisture our way. The high will reach ninety and will be quite miserable to be out in when it is sunny. Sunday night into the work week will be seventy-eight degrees and a lower chance of rain.

With all this rain it will be looking gorgeous around Miami Beach. Pretty soon and with the help of all this rain the traveler palms, and others will go into bloom so there is something to look forward to.
