Country singing sensation Carrie Underwood is kicking off the holiday season with nothing but festivities. Her newly-released third album Play On debuted on the top of the music charts, giving Underwood her second No.1 album debut.
Underwood may also soon be adding a couple more Grammies to her awards mantel. News just broke yesterday of her two Grammy nominations. The multi-platinum selling artist, who already has four Grammies under her belt, has been nominated for 'Best Female Country Vocal Performance' for her single “Just a Dream”, and 'Best Country Collaboration with Vocals” for “I Told You So”, her hit with Randy Travis.
But do not assume this superstar is only a hit with music; Underwood will soon be showcasing her acting abilities when she stars in her very own Christmas variety special on Fox.
Fans will get to see more of a comedic side of Underwood during the special, which will include a number of guests including Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Christina Applegate, and many others, including Underwood's own mother.
“My mom gets to have fun on the show”, Underwood tells FoxNews.com. “She actually is showing everybody where I get 'it' from...it was a lot of fun”, says Underwood.
Fun, is the only thing that would get her to consider to do more acting in the future, Underwood says. “I don't have an acting bug”, says the 26-year-old musical phenomenon. “But If the right thing came up and we were approached and told, 'Hey, this would be something cool for you, something small.' I'm not looking to do any Shakespeare or anything major. Something small, something fun, and it sounds like it would be a good time, then I'd be in.”
For now America can watch their idol have a good time on her new special when it airs December 7 at 8PM ET on Fox.
