Police in the suburban Houston town of League City released a videotape on Thursday that may show the driver of a vehicle involved in the hit and run death of an area cyclist early that morning. Kevin R. Munson, 45, of League City was struck at 2:30 a.m. in the 19000 block of East Marina Drive by a light-colored sedan. A passing motorist called authorities and remained with Munson until he was transported. The victim was pronounced dead of head trauma at a local hospital.

League City police later released video from a security camera at a nearby apartment complex. In that scene, a woman can be seen attempting to remove the plastic lining of the driver's-side front wheel well from a light-colored four-door compact. A security guard at the complex assists her in removing the part and stowing it in the back seat before she drives away.

League City police believe that tips submitted by people who viewed the surveillance video have identified the female driver, a "person of interest" in the incident. Her name has not yet been released. Almost 6,000 people have viewed the YouTube video to date.

Munson's death is the second hit-and-run fatality of a cyclist in 2014 and the fourth since early December. Houston police arrested a local woman in February and charged her in the death of Chelsea Norman, 24, in December. No arrests have been made in the deaths of two other cyclists killed December 20 and January 14.
