Tips on using artificial lawn or synthetic grass

There are so many uses for today’s artificial lawns. Do you live where lack of rainfall makes it hard to maintain a nice green lawn? Do you want easy maintenance grass without mowing? Would you like a temporary lawn for children or pets. Or how about achieving the perfect lawn for that demanding putting green surface in your own backyard.

Synthetic turf or artificial lawn may be the right solution for you. Today there are products that are remarkable realistic. Some of the benefits of using artificial lawn is the low maintenance. You will need to occasionally hose it clean with water, but you will not have to actually water it like living grass. This can save a lot of water and money. More labor and money is saved without having to mow, feed, aerate and weed.

On the down side artificial lawn is relatively expensive averaging about $12 per square foot. Synthetic grass can heat up more than regular lawn in hot sun. It can also build up germs if not washed occasionally. And you need to make sure the product you buy is made with little to no lead since there are some artificial lawns that have high lead or other toxic chemical content, often used for the green color or for UV protection.

But if you do your research and buy the right synthetic lawn you may find that using artificial grass is just perfect for your landscaping needs.

If it is a putting green it might be good, here with the desert scenery too much green is out of place.
