To get you started with creating your Pinterest profile I have provided some tips for optimizing your Pinterest profile:

  1. Optimize about section

Make sure to include your website URL, your location, a high quality image of your logo and for your description make sure to include relevant keywords.

2. Establish and optimize boards

Include relevant keywords and hashtags in the about section for your Pinterest board, create a Pinterest Place board for the location your business is located in, organize your board layout to include key boards or promtions on the top of your profile, make sure to include a category for your board even if you have to choose "Other".

3. Verify website

To verify your website you need to go to "Settings" and click verify website link that is displayed next to your website URL you included for the Website portion of your profile. You will then need to download a HTML file to your computer. Take this verification file and upload it to your website on your hosting account via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). 4. Link your Facebook & Twitter account

In the about section make sure to link your other social networks.There is also a feature under "Settings" where you can toggle on publish activity to a preferred social network you would like to share you Pin. This will help to increase traffic to your Pinterest profile and its pins while also raising awareness of your Pinterest profile to your Facebook and Twitter audience.

5. Optimize your blog for Pinterest

Make it easy for readers of your website to pin your content. Add a "Pin It" button to the bottom of all your blog posts.

6. Optimize your pin posts

When pinning make sure to include a link source, clear pin description with call to action and hashtags/keywords that are relevant.

7. Create rich pins
