The good news: You're just 10 pounds from your target weight. The bad news: Those last 10 pounds can be the most difficult to lose. If you're singing that song, then I've got the celebrity weight loss experts' tips for you, with recommendations from TV talk show star Dr. Mehmet Oz and "The Biggest Loser" trainer Jillian Michaels.
Jillian's newest book, "Slim for Life: My Insider Secrets to Simple, Fast, and Lasting Weight Loss" (click here to learn more) offers details on how to take off the weight and keep it off. But when it comes to losing the last 10 pounds, Jillian offers these tips:
- "Burn 500 more calories every day than you take in," Jillian told Everyday Health. Want a workout to make it happen? Then click here to get The Firm: 500 Calorie Workout or here to get "SHAPE: 400 CALORIE FAT BLAST w/ Summer Sanders." If you choose a 400-calorie workout, eat 100 calories less that day to achieve Jillian's goal.
- "Switch up your workout," advises Jillian. For example, you might try Zumba dance one day (click here to learn more) and then Jillian's 30-day shred fitness DVD the next (click here to get it now).
Dr. Oz has written a variety of health books, including "YOU: Losing Weight: The Owner's Manual to Simple and Healthy Weight Loss" (click here to learn more) and "YOU: On A Diet Revised Edition: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management" (click here to get it now). For those who can't seem to make that last 10 pounds budge, Dr. Oz told the "Today" show that stress, hormone changes and middle age are common culprits. He suggests:
- Try a structured diet if your metabolism has stalled, such as a breakfast of about 300 calories, a lunch of 400 calories, and a dinner of 500 calories. For a quick and easy way to look up foods ranging from fruit to fast food, click here to get "The CalorieKing Calorie, Fat, & Carbohydrate Counter 2013" for just five dollars!
- If you're trying to lose baby weight, enjoy three snacks of 75 or 100 calories in addition to a 1,200 calorie diet. Your snack total should be 250 calories. Want help with planning those meals? Then try a cookbook from one of Dr. Oz's favorite healthy eating chefs, Lisa Lillien, by clicking here to get "Hungry Girl 300 Under 300: 300 Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Dishes Under 300 Calories" or here to get "Hungry Girl: 200 Under 200: 200 Recipes Under 200 Calories."
