A Celebration of Harry Potter runs from January 24 to 26 at Universal Orlando Resort, and it's sure to be a wildly popular event. Vacation packages offered in conjunction with this event sold out almost immediately. Fortunately, most of the events at the celebration are included with regular admission tickets.

If you weren't lucky enough to score a vacation package and get preferred seating at the presentations, these tips should help you get the most out of the event:

1) Get a two-park ticket. The event is spread across both of the theme parks, although most of the presentations take place in Islands of Adventure. If you have a two-park ticket, you can easily move between the two parks. You'll catch all the Potter-related fun, and you can also take a break and enjoy the other attractions, like Spider-Man, the Hulk roller coaster, Transformers, and Revenge of the Mummy at both parks. The new Simpsons area at Universal Studios Orlando is an especially cool area that you won't want to miss.

2) Attend all three days of the event. There's so much going on between January 24 and 26 that you'll be scrambling to fit it all in. If you're a hard core Potter fan, you'll want to attend on all three days to get in as much fun as possible. Friday evening is the kick-off at Universal Studios Florida, while panel discussions and presentations run throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, an expo runs all three days at the Studios on Soundstage 33.

3) Make a plan. It's going to be very difficult to see everything the celebration has to offer. A plan is critical to maximize your time. The expo starts at 4 p.m. on Friday, so try to see as much of that as possible before the kick-off event at 7 p.m. Then devote Saturday and Sunday to the panels and presentations, and be prepared to get in line very early to ensure that you'll get a spot. You can work the expo in around the presentations and catch any parts you missed on Friday.

It's going to be a whirlwind weekend, and big crowds will be unavoidable. Still, if you come for all three days and plan out your time, you'll get the most enjoyable possible at this ultimate Potter fan event.
