With the weather forecast, there probably won’t be much sledding or cross country skiing this weekend. Hiking will be slushy at best. Low lying trails like the Wabash Heritage Trail, trails 2, 3 and 4 at Prophetstown State Park may experience flooding.

Currently, the river is frozen enough that the eagles may be hunting food near the downtown area. Watch the trees near the Harrison Bridge for the raptors. If you are driving north on SR 43, you may spot one of eagles flying parallel to you.

Jan. 11: Wolf Park, 7:30 p.m., Howl Night. Bring your rain gear to watch the wolves in nature. The gift shop will also be open (link).

West Lafayette Riverside Skating Center. Check ahead as the weather may affect their hours (link).

Champing at the bit to plan your garden? Up for a road trip after the recent cold and snow storms? The Indy Home and Garden Show is this weekend. Head for the Indiana Convention Center for this annual event (link). This event should not be confused with the Home Show later in January.
