With November, there are some end-of-season changes.
Several NICHES properties will be closed during November for controlled hunts. Hunting spots have been filled for the season. For hiker’s safety, no hiking is allowed on the closed sites during November. For a complete list (link) check the NICHES website.
Prophetstown State Park deer hunt closings are schedule Nov. 18-19 and Dec. 2-3 (link).
Nov. 6: Wednesdays In The Wild, evening program, 7-9 p.m. A Virtual Tour of the Natural History of Glacier National Park. Park (link). This program will be held in Lilly Nature Center. Dan Shepardson of Purdue Dept. of Earth, Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences will present a photographic record of the splendor of the park.
Nov 7: RIP Squad volunteer day at Ross Hills Park. Meet at the Ross House, 3-5 p.m., to help remove invasives. Work gloves and loppers, dress for poison ivy and the weather. Years of work at removing invasives around the house can readily be seen now. INPAWS (link).
Nov. 10: Wabashika Nature Center closes for the season at 5 p.m. Note: Lilly Nature Center (link) remains open through the winter.
November: There is still time to see the sand hill cranes at Jasper-Pulaski FWA (link).

Nature programs are done for the season. Last weekend for campground. Gatehouse closes for the season Sunday, Nov. 10.
