Tippecanoe County outdoor happenings, Feb. 18-22 (Photos)

Feb. 20-25: Sycamore Audubon Society. Backyard bird watch for February runs 5 days. This watch is for the National Audubon Society “tracking” system. It is used to see what birds are migrating and when they are on the move. Every month throughout the winter 5 days are set aside for this purpose. Feb. 20: Wednesdays in the Wild. Maple Sugaring at Home, 1-3 p.m., Lily Nature Center, Celery Bog Nature Area. Don Bickel, a retired forester, will lead this program. He will bring a variety of tools of the sugaring trade. He will explain about doing maple sugar on a small, home sized scale. Following the indoor portion of the program he will tap one of the maple trees for a practical demonstration.

Eagle watch update:

The eagles have been very active in the Lafayette area and can often be seen in the Harrison Bridge area.
