Feb. 8: Prophetstown State Park, 2 p.m. Bat House Work Shop. Pre-register with Angie Manual (link) for this 15$ program. All materials are provided and at the end of the session you will have a brand new bat house for your property. Bat houses can be seen throughout the county parks. With a loss of habitat, the boxes fill in a great need. Bats are natural bug zappers. Bat houses discourage bats nesting in attics. Meet at the Visitor Center in the Main Office. NO GATE FEE.

Feb. 9: Historic House Research Workshop, 1 p.m., Frank Arganbright Genealogy Research Center (across from the Fowler House). Do you own a historic house? This workshop will be a primer in researching your home as well as preservation advice. There is a 5$ cost for non-TCHA members, free to members. Registration required by Feb. 6. (link).

All of the sledding hills are open. Great snow base for cross-country skiing at Prophetstown State Park.
