DETH KILLERS of Bushwick make performance motorcycle garments, aimed to keep riders safe while remaining stylish. Fans of our somewhat cultlike 12 year-old brand will finally have a place to shop for stylish protective threads that keep them from looking like Transformers from Jersey while riding when we open our Manhattan flagship in early February on the Bowery in New York City.
The 64 square-foot shop (we said it was tiny!) is located on the corner of Bowery and Great Jones, the former home of a gas station and auto-body shop. Staying true to the locations roots, the 760 square-foot lot in front of our shop will serve as an area for thought-provoking motorcycle mischief, and may even soon serve as a motorcycle inspection pit stop and tire changing station.
We understand it’s difficult to try things on through the Internet, so we are excited to open a flagship where you can take our popular asphalt-resistant denim jeans and jackets, graphic tees and tanks, leather jackets, and baseball hats for a spin in real life. The store will also sell patches, motorcycle accessories, books, and vintage bric-a-brac that have purpose and style while fitting into the Deth Killers ethos.
Deth Killers garments are American made, but seriously, does it really matter? The only thing that matters about our clothes is that they work and make you look awesome. All of our jackets come with d3o back protectors, and the denim in our jeans and jean jackets is woven with Kevlar. If you are unfamiliar with Kevlar, it has both abrasion and heat-resistant qualities, which conveniently counteracts the two causes of roadrash: burns and slidy-ness on pavement. If you’ve ever had roadrash, you know you don’t want it again. And if you’ve never had roadrash, trust that other guy, you don’t want it. Our jeans really are asphalt-resistant, and that’s practically guaranteed. Our t-shirts are also really awesome and expensive. Each shirt is hand-screened and pre-shrunk in Bushwick, and then receives our secret “dirty wash” treatment, making it feel like you’ve owned it for thousands of years. Cause even though we’re scary bikers, we still like the feeling of soft puppies against our skins. Yeah so what, we like puppies, please punch us if you have a problem with that. Beware, sometimes we punch back!
The grandson of an NYC motorcycle cop and an entrepreneurial seamstress, Greg was born with essentially no choice but to pursue a career in the motorcycle club garment industry. Co-founding Deth Killers in 2002, Greg went on to continue working with Deth Killers, doing wheelies whenever he can, and hopefully not pissing off the Hell's Angels with this shop. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and 2 lovely dog-children.
Celebrated as one of the brightest voices in the New York art scene, Scott Campbell began his career as a tattoo artist and his talent and genuine attitude allowed his career to snowball. His friendship with the Deth Killers extends back to its inception. They share an appreciation of performance motorcycles, so his partnership with Deth Killers is an obvious fit. Scott lives in Brooklyn with his dog Texas and his wife Lake Bell, the funniest woman on Adult Swim.
DETH KILLERS of Bushwick’s mission is to kill death by helping to keep motorcyclists alive by providing them with performance garments they can wear easily while remaining stylish. The Deth Killers storefront and front lot will be open from Wednesday-Saturday 12PM-8PM & Sunday 12PM-6PM. The Deth Killers flagship store is located at 348 Bowery in New York City.
