To accompany the Tuesday, September 21, 2010 release of the Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue 2-Disc Disney Blu-ray and DVD, several local Chicago toy stores are stocking brand-new dolls, playsets, and other Disney Fairies toys that go with this new Tinker Bell movie. Additionally, the Disney Store is holding Disney Fairies free kids craft events on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue toys
New playthings based on characters and events from this new Tinker Bell DVD include different sizes of doll versions of Tink and her fellow Pixie Hollow fairies Iridessa, Fawn, Vidia, Rosetta, and Silvermist, and an upcoming 12" soft doll version of Lizzy (the little girl in the movie) with a tiny 2" figure of Tink that fits in her pocket. Options include 4.5" dolls, 9" fashion dolls with different wing designs and edgy outfits, and Pixie Light Fairies that play sounds and have wings that light up and change color when their scepters are waved over their heads. Children can also collect 2-inch mini figures of the fairies and animal figures of their little friends.
Other toys include the Pixie Power Playset, with parts that light up when any of the 4.5" doll figurines are flown around Tink's pixie workshop and garden, and the Lizzy's Fairy House Playset, inspired by the home the little girl builds in the movie. Children can also play with a new version of a Rescue Lantern, a charming Tea Party Playset (with two sets of tea services, one sized for girls and one sized for little fairy dolls), and a Blaze Light Up Fairy Finder set. And girls can enjoy pretend play dress-up games with new costume versions of Disney Fairies' dresses and accessories like Tink's Flip Flop slippers,
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD
From Tuesday, September 21 to Sunday, September 26, the Disney Store is offering special deals to customers that buy the newest Tinker Bell movie. Shoppers that purchase the Blu-ray Combo Pack will receive $10 off their next Disney purchase, while guests that buy the DVD version will receive $5 off their next purchase (offer good through October 3).
In this animated adventure, set during the season of summer, Tinker Bell meets her first human, Lizzy, a little girl who believes in fairies and who catches Tink and keeps her in a jar. The other Pixie Hollow fairies must then work together on a daring rescue plan to help their imprisoned friend while Tink gets to know Lizzy better.
This Disney DVD comes with extras such as deleted scenes, a fairy field guide builder, a music video, a video in which children compete to build fairy houses and the winner has her house built at Epcot, and an exclusive sneak peek look at Tangled, the next Disney Princess movie coming to theaters this November 2010. Lizzy's Fairy House Craft Event
The Disney Store will hold two sessions of the Lizzy's Fairy House Craft Event at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 25. At each event, children ages 3 and up can enjoy enchanting fairy fun building a fairy house just like Lizzy does and watching scenes from the new Disney Fairies film.
