Heat Vision has learned today that “30 Rock” creator and star Tina Fey is in final negotiations to join the upcoming sequel to “The Muppets.”
Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”) is set to star as the film’s villain, a lazy Interpol inspector, and Fey will apparently be playing a Russian gulag prison guard in the Europe-set follow-up.
She will star opposite comedian Ricky Gervais (“The Invention of Lying”), and I’m guessing we will see “The Muppets” getting locked up for some reason.
Production is set to being later this month in London with returning director James Bobin at the helm.
While I didn’t see the first film in this rebooted franchise I heard good things, and I’m sure fans of that will be in for a real treat.
