Tina Fey’s Golden Globes nails were fashioned by New York native Gina Eppolito. The celebrity manicurist gave the Long Island Beauty Lookbook Examiner the inside scoop on the Golden Globe co-host’s nail fashion for Hollywood’s biggest bash in an exclusive interview on Monday.
The stars shone brightly on the Golden Globes red carpet and so did their well-manicured nails, evident on Lena Dunham, Zooey Deshcanel and Tina Fey. Nail art has become the trendiest accessory, so it is not surprising that nail fashion was a hit on the red carpet of Sunday night’s 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, which aired on NBC.
New York celebrity manicurist Gina Eppolito was out in Los Angeles this weekend for the Golden Globe Awards, which isn’t a surprise as Eppolito was the lead manicurist for “The Wolf of Wall Street” where she designed the ‘90s nail art. Tina Fey, actress, funny lady and co-host of the Golden Globes, is also Gina’s longtime client. Fey received a classic mani/pedi with a combo of Essie Nail Polish in Vanity Fairest and Mademoiselle as seen in the attached photograph.
Tina Fey’s celebrity manicurist was gracious enough to answer a few questions after a busy Golden Globe weekend in L.A.
LIBLE: Was Tina Fey nervous at the time you gave her the manicure and pedicure?
Gina Eppolito: Our mani/pedi session was relaxing, mirroring the relaxing weather in L.A.
LIBLE: What made you choose the colors for the Golden Globes?
Gina Eppolito: The classic shade was chosen to compliment her gorgeous red carpet printed dress.
LIBLE: How long has Tina been a client of yours?
Gina Eppolito: I have been working with Tina since the start of “30 Rock”, about eight years ago.
Gina also provided the Long Island Beauty Lookbook Examiner and her devoted readers a few nail polish packing tips for air travel.
It was a nice break for me to get out of the New York cold for a few days. Packing my nail kit is always challenge, but what I find works best is Ziplocs all the way!! I use the small snack size for each polish, to avoid a mess, incase something breaks.
