After Seth MacFarlane's somewhat controversial spin as Oscars host, people are already buzzing about the 2014 show. Unfortunately Tina Fey's “no way” answer to the buzz already building she may be a possibility disappoints a lot of fans. The idea was sparked by a joke between MacFarlane and William Shatner during Sunday's broadcast, but it seems that's where it also ends. Huffington Post shared the details on Feb. 27.
Shatner and MacFarlene joked that perhaps Tina and Amy Poehler would be the next hosts if MacFarlane failed at his try. Huffington Post caught up to the “30 Rock” star to ask if hosting was something she'd consider and Tina Fey's “no way” came with little to no hesitation. She jokes that just the months of trying on dresses was enough reason to say no, but ultimately she says it's a tough gig, especially for a woman, so it's just not going to happen.
Told that her answer was disappointing and even a “one in a million chance” reply would be preferable, Fey say she wished she could say there was that chance. Clearly hosting a gig like the Oscars is a tough task for anybody, as many have tried and failed. Seth MacFarlane has come under fire for many of his jokes that some felt were over-the-top, while others loved him.
Many would love to see Fey and Poehler tackle the opportunity, but Tina Fey's “no way” response does seem to seal the deal. Who would you like to see host the 2014 Oscars?
