Back by popular are last year’s acclaimed hosts from the 2013 Golden Globes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, now set to host the precursor to the Oscars award show in 2014 and 2015. The announcement was made Tuesday morning in part by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) President Theo Kingma, Dick Clark Productions, and NBC. The former “Saturday Night Live” regulars, and stars of NBC’s “30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation,” did wow critics and viewers earlier this year with their excellent improvisations. There was even a 28 percent increase in the coveted 18-49 demographics resulting from their first-time hosting gig. It was inevitable in bringing Tina and Amy back for the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards.
HFPA president Theo Kingma had this to say, “Its wonderful news.” “They have always been our first choice as hosts and we’re delighted they are back for the next two years.” Paul Telegdy, president of Alternative and Late Night Programming -- NBC Entertainment, said, "We're elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years." Hopefully they’ll bring back their hilarious characterizations of posing as last-minute nominees in various categories. Be sure to tune in for Tina’s and Amy’s antics on Sunday, January 12. The Golden Globes will be presented live from the Beverly Hilton.
