Timothy Bradley survives against rugged Russian Ruslan Provodnikov

In the most exciting and brutal fight of 2013, Timothy Bradley earned a narrow unanimous decision victory over Russian Ruslan Provodnikov to successfully defend the WBO light welterweight championship on Saturday night at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Although hitting the canvas at least once, the 29-year-old Bradley (30-0-0-1, 12 KOs), also a former two-time light welterweight titlist who has trumped solid pugilists Lamont Peterson and Devon Alexander, somehow absorbed countless blows from the 29-year-old Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KOs).

Compensating for feathery fists, Bradley proved to be a diminutive version of a young Evander Holyfield and it’s now tough to envision that Manny Pacquiao could have ever finished the muscleman last June at the MGM Grand Arena in “Sin City.”

Ultimately, Timothy Bradley managed to overcome the tremendously rugged Ruslan Provodnikov and the legendary Manny Pacquiao in a single evening in the “Golden State.”
