The test of two fighters comes to a head as Timothy Bradley, and Juan Manuel Marquez battle in the ring for the WBO welterweight title, it happens tomorrow in Las Vegas on HBO Pay-Per-View, and presented by Top Rank.
Without a doubt, both fighters are in shape for this fight. Timothy Bradley weighed in at 146 lbs., looking picture perfect. Juan Manuel Marquez, at 40-years-old, and looking well chiseled weighed in at a toned 144.5 lbs.
This is a fight in which both fighters have something to prove. For Bradley, it's about respect and to prove he deserves to be here. With a controversial win over Manny Pacquiao, Bradley was all but tarred and feathered by the boxing world. The sad thing is, the judges decided the outcome of the fight, not Bradley. In his last fight, Bradley beat Ruslan Provodnikov in a fight that went the distance, Bradley showed grit when he was knocked down in the final round, but would hang on for the win.
For an aging Marquez, the Mexican favorite has proven his critics wrong with his stunning knockout of Manny Pacquiao last year. He is in great shape, and lies on the brink of winning belts in five different weight divisions. Marquez may be past his prime on paper, but his actions in the ring speak for itself. When it's all said and done, Marquez will etch his place in boxing history.
