As you look for ways to organize your writing time more effectively in the new year, consider these suggestions from a few fellow Christian writers.
Diana Brandmeyer, author of We're not Blended We're Pureed, a Survivor's Guide, has found her most productive writing time. She is convinced that having a clean desk is one of the best ways to stay on target. Diana says,
I've found my best time for writing is from 2-5. When I stick to it I get a lot done, more than if I sit at my computer from 8-5.
Having a clean desktop also helps me. Right now I have an over-sized desk that can fill up fast with research, coupons I print and even fingernail polish bottles. When I get it cleaned off my brain creates much faster. That is my goal for next year--to have a clean desk every morning. That means I'll have to put stuff away when I'm done. I should be able to do that, right?

Author Janalyn Voigt, fantasy author and writing mentor, has a very specific daily schedule, broken down hourly. If you're a stay-at-home writer, with a personality that thrives on accounting for every hour of your day, and who has a "tortoise" instead of "hare" approach to your writing, Janalyn's system may work for you.
