Apparently, Time magazine columnist Joe Klein has never heard of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Reps. Allen West (R-FL), Tim Scott (R-SC) or Raul Labrador (R-ID).
On Thursday, he continued the racist smear of the GOP while appearing with MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell.
"What the Republicans have is an awful lot of scared white people in their party," he said.
Klein made his disgusting smear when O'Donnell asked why the GOP isn't going after Latino voters.
"There was once a time when some Republicans believe they should be going after the Latino vote specifically because of the demography story told in "Time" magazine this week. What happened to that idea?"
LAWRENCE O'DONNELL, HOST: Joe, the cover of your magazine this week, it's the first headline you've ever had in Spanish, "Yo Decido," I decide. It says, "Why Latinos will pick the next president."
There was once a time when some Republicans believe they should be going after the Latino vote specifically because of the demography story told in "Time" magazine this week. What happened to that idea?
JOE KLEIN, TIME MAGAZINE: Boy, the thing is, you play to what you've got. And what the Republicans have is an awful lot of scared white people in their party. And one of the things they're most scared about is people of different colors and ethnicities and, you know, backgrounds polluting their white picket fence sense of America.
You know, Karl Rove was obsessed with trying to win over the Latino vote because these are people who are, many of them, religiously conservative Roman Catholics and an awful lot of strong businessmen and strong family people. It would make sense except they're doing the best they can to offend Latinos and women -- and you know, pick your category.
Sheppard added:
This is a columnist for a so-called news periodical speaking on a so-called news network in the year 2012.
And Republicans are the ones he considers racist.
I'd strongly advise him to look in the mirror but something tells me that scares him more than people that don't think exactly like he does.
It's no wonder Rep. Allen West (R-FL) said that Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels would be proud of today's Democratic Party, with the smears that networks like MSNBC pump out every day.
"If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine,” he said.
