Make plans now to attend the 2013 Midwest BunFest! The third annual Midwest BunFest will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 2 at the Whitehall Community Park Activities Building, 402 North Hamilton Road, Whitehall, Ohio (near the Columbus airport).
The largest rabbit festival and exposition in the Eastern United States, Midwest Bunfest offers fun for everyone, including – or perhaps especially – the bunnies in your family! Rabbits are welcome at Midwest BunFest, the only event of its kind in the Midwest. Your bunny can have her very own spa day of grooming and pampering, and then relax in the bunny daycare area while you shop or attend the educational presentations.
Last year’s presentations covered a range of diverse of topics including acupuncture and herbal therapy for bunnies to prevention and treatment of GI stasis, as well as how to safely forage for wild edibles! Educational sessions are taught by nationally recognized rabbit veterinarians and educators certified by the House Rabbit Society.
Shelters and rescues from Ohio and other Midwestern states will be on hand, and many will be bringing several adoptable bunnies to see and be seen, while sharing information about their mission and the services they offer.
Shopping opportunities will be plentiful, with the vast majority of vendors being-or having affiliations with-rescue groups. (You know Christmas is less than 11 weeks away, right?). Shoppers will have the added satisfaction of knowing that their purchases help support rabbit rescues. Many popular products can be purchased here without the added expense of shipping charges: Cottontail Cottages, BingaLing Bunny hay and Oxbow hay to name just a few. Handcrafted bunny jewelry, handbags and clothing are available for the humans, and reference books, bunny care items, bunny glamour-shots (after those spa treatments, you’ll want a bunny photo!) and many more items are available for the bunnies.
The Columbus House Rabbit Society will have a variety of tasty Oxbow hays on hand at great prices, along with a terrific selection of items from their gift shop: bunny-themed jewelry, clothing, Christmas ornaments, Beatrix Potter items and more.
The silent auction always has a wonderful selection of items for people and bunnies, including jewelry, household items (your household and the bunny’s household), snack baskets (yours and theirs) and much more.
Snacks and sandwiches can be purchased at the snack bar or at nearby restaurants.
All this for only $5!! Children under 12 are only $3! For more event details, check out the Midwest BunFest website at www.midwestbunfest.org
