Now that we have been painted into a corner with the passage of this Constitution-trampling explosion of government, we have only 5 options left before things get ugly:
1) Vote them out in 2010. This option requires much patience and will not actually mean anything unless those elected actually reverse all the spending, bailouts and takeovers.
Most likely, Democrats will be punished for a few years while Republicans ride the tidal wave of public outrage into office, at which point they will throw us some symbolic scraps from the table, rather than making a serious commitment to uprooting federal tyranny. It is absolutely critical that we get actual conservatives into office and eject the RINOs in 2010.
2) Legal challenge in the courts. There is a chance that the Supreme Court could reverse this law based on the "Commerce Clause" debate (a few states being bribed and blackmailed into submission at the expense of all the others).
3) Nullification. This is where states stand up for their 10th Amendment rights and declare that, since this law is blatantly unconstitutional, they refuse to acknowledge that it was even passed.
And no, the Founders never intended for the federal government to be the sole determiner of the size and scope of its own power. State nullification was always intended as a natural check against federal encroachments.
If the federal government defies a legitimate nullification action, then this may lead into a secessionist movement. As I have noted, Texas and Tennessee have already launched into aggressive sovereignty movements, and Montana is also leading on these issues.
4) Recall election. Start a petition in your state to recall the corrupt tyrants who voted for this insanity.
5) Civil disobedience (the only option that requires no waiting). The politicians are now coming home to face their constituents. Escalate things by organizing a disruptive demonstration, like a sit-in.
While government creates 111 new federal bureaucracies and destroys the free market system that 84% of us are happy with, the politicians have exempted themselves from the rationed, inferior care the rest of us are left with. But they cannot exempt themselves from us.
As Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence, when government becomes adversarial to the people, it is both the right and the responsibility of the people to rise up and "alter or abolish" that government. Government gets its power from us.
It is time to step up and take back what is ours.

One of the republican representatives said we have 3 weeks. He said all republican representatives will be running town halls and the people need to plant themselves at offices of those who voted yes and stay there perhaps night and day for the whole 3 weeks. I agree with that stance, and for those who have democrats that voted for this bill in either house, time to start spending some quality time with these people or their staff. Make sure you bring the facts about what is wrong with this bill and a list of all the unconstitutional actions this administration has taken thus far (and it is a long list including capping pay etc).
The argument I am hearing and am sure many have heard is that they have violated the consitution before, and my thought is that is like an ax murderer justifying his latest kill by telling everyone he has axed 10 other people prior to the most recent murder. An admission of previous wrong doing is certainly no justification for a continuation.
At this point, Thomas Jefferson's words are looking like the only way that Democrat/Liberal/COMMUNISTS will "hear the populice".
I'm sick and tired of their blatant disregard for the Constitution, twisting and corrupting what is very clear, collusion, insults on the people. I'm ticked.
This blatant disregard for not only the Constitution, but the will of the majority of the People is nauseating. If this Senate and House will allow the passage of something so railed against, what else will they allow? The idea that Obama could institute Executive Orders to completely renovate the way our Country is run is terrifying, and worthy of utter revolt.

The pace that things are changing tells us that we cannot wait until the elections of 2010 or 2012. We must act now! I'm all ready for #4....I do not think anything else will work.

You are quite correct that the time for drastic measures has arrived. Actually, you neglected to mention one; ie. the electoral recall of the Democrats who votes for this health care nightmare-particularly those that are from "Red" states that permit re-call and who ARE not up for re-election in 2010! I advocated this in my own blog posting at Resist-Net (from where I linked to this article). The rest of yours here are ok with the exception of nullification; that has been tried once before, failed,and the Civil War is over! We must stand united as a country to fight-and defeat-Obama and socialism!

Also, Just because nullification was illegitimately thrown down back in the Civil War era doesn't mean states don't still have their rights and the ability to draw a line in the sand.
Nullification can work as long as the states that enact it have the spine to back it up.
Let's see our government does not want to enforce our immigration laws. And yet they are trying to shove this health care down our throats. If the government can pick and choose which laws they enforce. American citizens, we the people. Can choose what laws we care to follow. Can't have it both ways. Allow me to add 2 more numbers to the list:
6. Jury nullification. Let them arrest anyone for not complying with the health ins law or any other unconstitutional law. All we need on the jury is one person to stand by a not guilty vote and the law itself is nullified! google fija for more info.
7. The second amendment. The founders didn't put that one in so that you could deer hunt in the fall every year.
It is THE last resort to stop a tyrannical government.
My I add, once the current treasonous members of our government are removed from congress they should be charged with treason. Otherwise they will return. No, not the current politicians but their socialist ideas. They tried it before in this nation, most recently during the Clinton administration with Hillary care. They were defeated at the ballot box and a decade later have regrouped. We need to kill the beast by cutting off it's head and the way to do that is through punishment for the crime of treason. The socialist left wants the whole pie, but are willing to take it slice by slice. Let's stop them in their tracks. Charge them with treason, try them, convict them.
I do like these, and I particularly like Joe's #7, but there is one more, which should be #8, and that is secession. It's isn't illegal, and unlike Lincoln, Obama does not have the backbone to go to war with a rebel state. He barely got up enough gumption to do a troop surge in Afghanistan. You think he's going to send troops to move on Texas? And you think the troops will obey?

Reversing the left's policy of doing nothing about terrorists is not being a "murderer." It's called being a thinking, adult human being.

The only way the Republicans will even get anywhere near a look-in at the next election is to make themselves more appealing to the populous by flashing their best centre-right smile and enforcing gagging orders on the wildcards in the party; but all you seem to want to do at the grassroots level is stamp your feet, pull tantrums, stick your fingers in your ears and sing la la la la, in order to deny what is happening around you.
Your route back to government is through showing yourselves as a viable alternative and to take back the central ground, not going further and further right and into the territory of comedic backlash. Nullification? Translucent legal challenges? Get a grip, seriously!

There is a solution to this one. GOOOH has the answer. You have to replace career politicians with citizen legislators.
The problem with #1 & #4 is that you have to have somebody replace them who aren't career politicians. If you wait until 2010 and don't have a plan to raise up citizen legislators, you will wind up in the same boat.
#4 has the same problem. You have to have somebody to replace them with who isn't a career politician as well.

I very much like the idea of citizen representatives....that is what our founding fathers had in mind from all I have read of their writings. Goooh.com seems to have at least one alternative to putting that back in place as well as many other great ideas on promoting TRUE change. Check it out
