It is Friday, January 20, 2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area.   After weeks of unusually dry winter weather it is finally raining, albeit light rain.   But the big thing on minds of most San Francisco Bay Area residents is Sunday’s football game.   The San Francisco 49ers take on the New York Giants for the NFC Championship at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.   The winner will go on to play in the Superbowl in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, February 2, 2012.
 
What time and what channel will the San Francisco 49ers New York Giants NFC Championship game be on on Sunday, January 22, 2012?
 
Sunday’s 49er game will be broadcast locally on the FOX station, KTVU, Channel 2.  Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.  But KTVU will present a pregame show between 2 and 3 p.m.   FOX will present its pregame show 3-3:30pm.    KTVU is calling its hour-long program “Return to Glory- The 49ers Special.”   You can bet KTVU will be showing the famous play know at The Catch that happened on January 10, 1982.  Video of The Catch is on the LOWER left.

What will the weather be like for the San Francisco 49ers New York Giants NFC Championship game?

As of Friday, January 20, forecasters were predicting light rain showers for the game.  At the start of the game at 3:30pm, temperatures are predicted to be in the 50s and are expected to drop as the game goes along and the sun goes down.   Unfortunately, forecasters say you probably won’t see the sun all day on game day, Sunday, January 22, 2012.
 
Who is going to win Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants?
 
Veteran sportscaster and former Oakland Raiders coach John Madden told KCBS radio that he expects the game to be close but he predicted that the 49ers would beat the New York Giants.    
 
Who is going to win Sunday’s AFC Game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens?  
 
John Madden told KCBS radio that he expects that game won’t be as close as the 49ers game and that the Patriots would win.   Madden’s opinion of the AFC game is backed by a compilation of predictions listed in the Boston Globe.  However, the Globe notes that most analysta are predicting that the San Francisco 49ers will lose to the New York Giants on Sunday. 
 
Can I still get tickets to Sunday’s game at Candlestick?
 
If you haven’t gotten your tickets to Sunday’s NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, you can still get tickets, for a price.   On Friday, January 20, 2012, stubhub.com listed the cheapest ticket as $325.
 
But once again, the best seat in the house may be the TV your living room.   The NFC Championship Game between  the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants will be shown locally on TV on KTVU, Channel 2.  Kickoff is 3:30pm.   Channel 2’s pregame show starts at 2 pm and FOX’s pregame show will begin at 3pm.   Sunday’s game will also be broadcast live on the radio on KSFO, 560AM
