Timberlake mocks Chavez on "SNL," leaving some people asking, "Too soon?" Former boy band member Justin Timberlake, now a married man, hosted the popular "Saturday Night Live" on Mar. 9, 2013, and he lost no time making fun of the recently deceased Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, according to Yahoo!, but was his performance in good taste given that the leader's body is barely cold?
The audience sat attentively, watching as Timberlake mocked Chavez while simultaneously impersonating and mocking singer Sir Elton John in one fell swoop. As Elton John, Timberlake wore an outrageous outfit that included a wig and Elton's trademark sunglasses and spewed comments about Chavez's beliefs and dubious accomplishments, such as starring in his own television show, "Hello Mr. President." Yes, it's real, in case you were wondering.
Hugo Chavez died on Mar. 5, 2013 at the age of 58.
Did you watch the episode of "SNL" where Timberlake mocks Chavez? Was it disrespectful, or is anything fair game for the long-running comedy sketch show? Comments are welcome.
