Timbaland is the featured guest on True Hollywood Story on E! Tuesday night and the hip hop community is going to be rocking after hearing his admission. The hip hop artist and producer shares a secret he has kept about Aaliyah for years and the sneak peek clip has everyone setting the DVR’s.
The beloved Aaliyah died in an airplane accident traveling from the Bahamas on August 25 2001, just as her career was on the edge of greatness. The writer for some of her singles was Timbaland and he had a very personal struggle with the death of his colleague, friend and he really cared for her personally which is a little detail he’s never talked about before.
"When I first met Aaliyah…it's time for the world to hear this…I'm gonna give a little secret, I was in love with her,” Timbaland shares on True Hollywood Story. "I said, 'She’s just a baby, I'm old'. I said to myself, 'I'm just gonna be her brother.’ Oh man, I was fightin', I was fightin' a lot, a big war. But I loved Aaliyah."
