NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 2, 2013 - Country crooner Tim McGraw nabs his 33rd career No. 1 single this week with "One of Those Nights," off his latest Two Lanes of Freedom album. Hitting the summit of Billboard's Country Airplay chart, McGraw is sitting high in the limelight for his debut Big Machine release. The chill anthem follows on the heels of previous chart-topping entries, including “Don’t Take The Girl” and “I Like It, I Love It” to “Where The Green Grass Grows,” “The Cowboy In Me” and “Live Like You Were Dying.”
“It feels great to have the No. one song…it’s always a really special feeling,” he says. “Country radio has never let me down, and I’m so thankful for those relationships. It’s going to be a great song for the tour this summer…it sets the perfect tone for an awesome night!”
In his new YouTube video, McGraw thanks his fans personally for calling into their local radio stations requesting his new music. "I'm backstage about to go on in Vegas for our Soul 2 Soul show but I wanted to thank everyone for supporting me at radio," he gushes. "I really appreciate it. I'll see you out on the road this summer."
McGraw and wife Faith Hill are currently residing in Las Vegas for a Soul 2 Soul concert series at the intimate 1,815-seat Venetian Theatre. Running for 10 weeks, the mini-tour wraps up in April. "Soul2Soul tours were really just her and I doing a tour," McGraw told Rolling Stone. "They were great – we started out with two songs together and she would do her show, then we would do two songs together, then I would do my show, then we would end with a couple of songs. So we did duets and it was our tour together, but it wasn't like it was a show about us completely. And that's what this show is going to be."
This summer, the guitar-toting musician will hit the road on a 30-city Two Lanes of Freedom Tour, galavanting across the country to perform shows in many of the country's biggest arenas. “This album marks a new sense of excitement and artistic freedom for me, and I really wanted to extend that same feeling to the tour and create a cool vibe for the fans,” he explains. "Let’s leave anything that might be weighing us down out in the parking lot and spend a few hours together feeling alive and free. We’ve started working up new songs from the album, and there’s some really cool stuff we’ll be able to pull out this summer. My band is just kick-ass…there’s nothing these guys can’t play! We’ll be counting the days til Birmingham!”
Plus, coming up next, McGraw will be taping an all-star special called ACM Presents: Tim McGraw's Superstar Summer Night on April 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The segment will air later this year on CBS and features appearances by Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean.
