Tim McGraw is finally speaking out about the slapping incident. News came out that he actually slapped a female fan during a concert who grabbed his pants and they almost ripped. On Tuesday, The Christian Post shared about what Tim had to say about the incident. Fans were shocked to see what happened but Tim is trying to make it sound like it wasn't a big deal.
He spoke out to ET Canada about the incident saying, "Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on."
This woman first slapped his knee and then she actually reached for his groin area. Tim reached out and slapped her on the face. It was during his performance of the song "Truck Yeah." TMZ was able to share footage of the incident.
Tim went on to say, "It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there's nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There's nothing to be said about it."
He is making it sound like it was just a reaction to do it. Tim will probably think twice before doing it again though. He might also not get so up close and personal with fans. He was out there right by the fans which is normally how he does a concert. Maybe he is just one of those artists that shouldn't be close enough for the fans to touch him in the future.
