Country superstar Tim McGraw earned his 14th #1 debut album, as "Two Lanes of Freedom" topped Billboard's Country Album chart this week. It also tops Billboard's All-Genre Digital Albums chart as well.
"Two Lanes of Freedom" has been receiving rave reviews from various media outlets.
USA Today exclaimed, "If this is an indication of McGraw's next phase, then let Freedom ring again and again."
Billboard Magazine wrote, "McGraw is a master of balancing lighter fare and introspection, seamlessly shape-shifting from life of the party to brooding philosopher, emoting the trickier, riskier byways of pain and regret as skillfully as he approaches the more common themes of romance and freewheeling good times."
The Boston Globe gave its praise, saying, "McGraw is a savvy artist and picker of songs, wisely choosing those that will keep him commercially viable but continuing to stretch his legs."
Next on tap for McGraw is an all-star concert special, "ACM Presents: Tim McGraw's Superstar Summer Night." The show will be taped the night after the ACM Awards (April 8) in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and will be broadcast later in the year on the CBS Television Network.
Tim will take to the road this summer with his "Two Lanes of Freedom 2013 Tour," kicking it off in Birmingham, AL on May 2, hitting 30 cities through July. The U.S. portion of the tour will feature opening acts Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft.
