Tim McGraw is a country music staple for two decades, with 32 No. 1 hits and over 40 million in album sales. His recent release, Emotional Traffic was released last Tuesday, and is receiving praise from critics and fans alike. This summer, McGraw will join good friend and fellow country superstar Kenny Chesney out on the road on the Brothers of the Sun tour, which will play stadiums in 20 cities across the country.
The Brothers of the Sun tour is not the first time the two friends have shared the stage together. They last toured together about ten years prior, and the combination is a winning idea, as they share many of the same fans. The tour, unfortunately, will not be visiting the Sacramento area. The only California date on the schedule is in Anaheim on July 14th. Opening acts on the tour will be Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
Emotional Traffic, McGraw's current release, has been long-awaited by fans, and it represents McGraw's final album for Curb Records, his label for his entire musical career. He recently won a suit to be released from the label, and is currently considering his options on what he'll do next. In a recent review of the album by Reuters, it's said that McGraw has stated he will release another album this year on another label, and he is in the studio recording new tracks now.
Tim's current single, "Better Than I Used To Be" is currently in the Top 30, stopping this week at No. 26, and still climbing.
