Tim Lambesis: Christians got duped, Atheists got attempted murderer

See also

Atheist propagandist Dan Barker has claimed that he was collecting info about Atheist who passed themselves off as clergy simply because they needed to make a living even though they had lost their faith.

Well, the Bible and Bob Dylan have something to say about this:

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us (1 John 2:19).

You say you lost your faith, but that's not where it's at / You have no faith to lose and you know it (Positively 4th Street).

Of course, Dan Barker (who believes in relative morals) stated that he would keep the identity of these supposed crypto-Atheist-clergy anonymous. Great, this means that he can just invent whatever he wants and then claim that he is just keeping his sources secret so as to protect his fellow comrades.

Along these lines comes the story of Tim Lambesis who was the one time front man, lead singer, for the “Christian” heavy metal band As I Lay Dying.

He recently stated:

Truthfully, I was an atheist. I actually wasn’t the first guy in As I Lay Dying to stop being a Christian. In fact, I think I was the third. The two who remained kind of stopped talking about it, and then I’m pretty sure they dropped it, too.

Fascinatingly, he hides behind allegedly supposedly higher learning for the reason of turning from Christian to Atheist. He was majoring in religious studies via a “long distance program”—which means that he spent the day surfing the net—and,

In the process of trying to defend my faith, I started thinking the other point of view was the stronger one.

Note the oddly false dichotomy. Firstly, he is engaged in religious studies which, one may imagine, covers a variety of religions. However, he presents a false dichotomy in that it was either 1) Christianity or 2) the other point of view.”

Indeed, this goes to show that Atheism is, primarily, simply an anti-Christian support group.

Well, we know that may Atheists chose Atheism at a very, very young age; for intellectually and emotionally immature reasons which rarely are given a chance to mature. We also know that, as the title of a previous article put it (with evidence), Being an atheist: the best reason is that it feels oh, so good. Moreover, see Why Atheism is chosen for evidence of less than impressive reasons given by some notable Atheists.

Well, Tim Lambesis began to feel the wonders of the freedom afforded to him when he gave up that restrictive and prude bible stuff and embraced Atheism:

The first time I cheated on my wife, my interpretation of morality was now convenient for me. I felt less guilty if I decided, ‘Well, marriage isn’t a real thing, because Christianity isn’t real. God isn’t real. Therefore, marriage is just a stupid piece of paper with the government.’

Not ironically, this may be the actual reason for his embrace of Atheism: his own [re]interpretation of morality which was convenient. Atheist John Loftus rejected God based on the following [il]logical syllogism:

1) He committed adultery

2) The Holy Spirit was supposed to be indwelling him at the time since he was a “believer”

3) But God did not stop him from committing adultery which is against God’s will

4) Therefore, there is no God

Note also, that John Loftus wrote:

She practically idolized me. She did everything I said to do…What man doesn’t want to be worshiped? I guess I did. I was having problems with my own relationship with my wife at the time, and Linda made herself available. I succumbed and had an affair with her [Why I Rejected Christianity: A Former Apologist Explains, p. 21].

Hey, what man has two thumbs and does not want to be worshipped? This guy! Hey, John; this was a world-class case of speak for yourself. It is, of course, very telling; how could John Loftus continue believing in God when he, himself, wanted to be worshipped? Indeed, Atheism is self-deification.

The problem with the self-made man is that he worships his creator.

Well, bad went to worse when it all came to a head when his convenient [re]interpretation of morality lead to his inquiring if anyone knew a hitman so that he could have his wife murdered. He was swiftly arrested as part of an undercover sting. His newly found Atheist freedom lead to a six year in prison which began in March of 2014 AD. Now he will get married to the guy with the most cigarettes.

So Christians were duped into spending money to buy CDs, shirts and attend concepts by a fake Christian and Atheists got an adulterous attempted murderer.

Perhaps he can start up a prison based band but, this time, rather than calling it As I Lay Dying he can call it As I Lay With Another Woman or maybe As I Lay Lying, or As I Want My Wife to Lay Dying…the possibilities are endless.
