Tim Hortons, 71 Niagara St., Tonawanda (City), NY (716) 695-7778
It doesn't seem to matter what time of the day or night it is, this location always seems to be busy. Not just the drive-thru, but the walk-in business,
This Tim Hortons location shares space with Coldstone Creamery these days, so you can get just about anything. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, iced coffee, iced cappuccino, sandwiches, soup, bagels, pastries, cookies, ice cream and more.
Tim Hortons coffee & donuts originated in Canada. The chain was started by a Canadian hockey player named Tim Horton. Tim started his career playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the last couple of years he played for the Buffalo Sabers. He died in a car crash in the the early 1970s. His car was going 110 miles per hour on the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Expressway).
Now that you have a little history, let's talk about this location.
The service can be hit and miss. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow. Sometimes they get your order wrong, but I have to admit, the coffee is always good. I've been going to Tim Hortons for years for coffee and have only gotten it barely warm once.
The new cheddar cheese bagel is very tasty and right now you can get it toasted and buttered for only 99cents. They're fruit explosion muffins are good, but small. They have jelly-like center which is the "explosion" part. The chocolate chocolate chip muffins are very good, if not a wee bit too moist. If you love chocolate, you'll love these muffins. Skip the sugar in your coffee when ordering this muffin, you won't need it.
In all honesty, you can't go wrong with a cup of Tim Hortons coffee. It's brewed fresh at least every 20 minutes, it's good body and good flavor. Whether you like it black or triple/triple, you'll like Tim Hortons.
