Tim Graney: Ron Paul admits re-election woes, cites Graney Campaign

Tim Graney, candidate for the 14th Congressional District, issued the following statement regarding the state of Ron Paul's campaign:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Ron Paul Admits Re-Election Woes, Cites Graney Campaign

Katy, TX - January 20, 2010 - Last week, Congressman Ron Paul sent an email to his supporters outlining his difficult path to re-election and indirectly quoting his opponent, Republican candidate Tim Graney.

Even though Paul is running as a Republican, he claims the Republican Party has "...turned their attack dogs loose on me...doing everything they can to make sure I'm defeated."  In response, Republican Tim Graney said that "Ron Paul has little support from the grassroots of the Republican Party.  His views and voting record make it clear that he is a Republican in name only."  As a point of information, Paul has run in the past as a candidate of the Libertarian Party.

Paul also contradicts his re-election bid efforts when he acknowledges that the "tremendous anti-incumbent, anti-Washington sentiment in America...is a good thing."  In response, Tim Graney said that "It seems Ron Paul is unwilling to give up his career politician status and the sense of entitlement to his position.  Paul is now more a product of Washington then a representative of Texas."

As Ron Paul's email to supporters continues, he admits that "...the road to re-election will be bumpy."  The long time incumbent is a facing a tough challenge from within his own party, and Paul specifically quotes from Republican Tim Graney's website in his correspondence.  In response Graney said, "If he is willing to engage me in his emails, he should be willing to engage me in a debate.  The 14th District of Texas deserves a substantive debate, but Ron Paul is unwilling to go before the voters and defend his record.  For 20 years, Ron Paul has been voting NO in Washington.  Voting NO has been ineffective and done nothing to reduce government. Ron Paul has proved that working alone and voting NO will not solve problems in Washington."

Graney added, "Voters are responding to our 'Common Sense Conservative' message focused on a safe and secure America, energy initiatives, business growth and American values.  A significant tide is rising in the 14th District and it's against Ron Paul's ineffective record."

I don't doubt that the Republicans would like to destroy the gadfly that just won't go away and is stirring up trouble for "business as usual" Republicans ... who are indistinguishable from Democrats. I hope that Paul's constituents can discern their real beneficial interest here. Let's at least make sure Dr. Paul has the money he needs to fight these enemies in the media. If they can destroy Ron Paul, I'm leaving the country.

If you haven't figured it out by now, fund raising is about getting your base to give money to you so that you can wipe the map with your opponent. Each year, Rep Paul continues to blow away better opponents because he is able to out fund raise his opponents by wide margins. That included you Mr. Graney.

So far, looking at the contributions given to your campaign, I would say that you have a 1 percent chance of removing Mr. Paul as the Republican candidate for District 14. I do need to leave that 1 percent chance in there only because there is always the chance between now and the primaries that Rep. Paul might pass away in some unfortunate accident.

Even looking up the contributions in the FEC filings, I can find no one that has contributed to your campaign as of yet.

Under what pretense do you honestly think that anyone should take you seriously as a candidate? No money, no support, and the same old rhetoric that eve

"Tim Graney, not a career politician"

    ..HAHAHAHAHAH

Graney should be ashamed of himself. If he were openly admitting that he is a follower of Mao, Stalin, Che then I could understand his opposition to Paul. But to run against the greatest defender of liberty we have in the country, that is truly sad. Go home and hide in the closet Mr. Graney.

I don't think Graney would take his Oath to office seriously just like every other person who has ever been in Congress except Dr. Paul. If I don't have confidence if you saying the oath of office and adhering to it, you sure bet I wouldn't vote for him. BTW, to adhere to the oath, one would end up voting "NO" 99% of the time like Dr. Paul.
