Tim and Patti Rose, a singer/songwriter duo from the Long Beach Peninsula of Washington, gave a great performance Saturday evening, February 16 at the RiversZen Yoga Studio’s Third Saturday musical event. Each Third Saturday, RiversZen owners, David and Peggy Stevens, feature different local musicians to perform. The events are open to the public, and recent entertainment has included Acustica, tenor Peter von Payens performing Broadway tunes, and most recently, Tim and Patti Rose ensemble including their bass guitarist and guitar and banjo player.
Tim and Patti rose have composed both the music and lyrics to most of the music they performed Saturday evening, February 16, 2013. RiversZen Yoga Studio, which once housed a music store, has some fine acoustics. The acoustics coupled with the cozy environment, made for a very enjoyable performance. Patti and Tim have been married for 12 years, and during that time they have composed over 45 songs together. Their music reflects their deep love for one another. Their playful and open way with one another and their audience, made everyone feel like we were sitting with them in their living room. Patti and Tim describe their music as “pure Americana, bridging the sound of old country with folk music.”
Patti and Tim Rose’s ensemble included John Purdin playing bass and Dennis Severs on guitar and banjo.. John has played with a number of other bands, and John and his wife Louise host a regular jam session in Surfside, Washington twice a month. After two long sets and a short break, Patti and Tim invited those in the audience who had brought their instruments, to join in for at least a good hours worth of music. We played along, as they sang for us, and gave everyone a full and rich evening of good music and fine entertainment.
