Tiki party after hours at SF Presidio's Disney Museum was animated and fun

The Walt Disney Family Museum at the San Francisco Presidio hosted an animated Tiki party after hours with an Adventureland theme and guests who came in all shapes and sizes showed no fear of loud shirts. The museum also unveiled the new animated Pepe del Presidio who sings his doppleganger's Tiki song and mentions animation throughout Disney history, from Lincoln to the Haunted Mansion. The museum hosts theme parties after hours about every two months and the next parties this year will feature Tomorrowland, the Wild West Frontier and the Haunted Mansion.

Guests posed at the photo booth, sampled Neo chocolates in flavors like almond with roasted sea salt; sea salt caramel; marshmallow. Mount Gay rum spiked the green punch big time and offered samples of the smooth adult beverage in keepsake shot glasses. Guests had the run of the museum which could take days to explore. Some exhibits are interactive such as the sound syncronization with percussion instruments the guest plays in time to the video. See the photo in the slide-show.

Here's an idea of what the parties are like, with novel entertainment and food: Tiki party line-up. The Presidio also makes a breathtaking location. Visitors find a little grove of benches and a cafe table overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, kite surfers and Alcatraz. The museum also provides bike racks. If you walk out of the Mary Blair exhibit, the stairs open to a glorious view of the Golden Gate Bridge and it practically glowed in the dark last night with no fog curtain. It just gets a tad windy.
