The 2013 American League Divisional Series will wrap up tonight, but who will be the final team to punch their ticket to the League Championship round? With three of the final four teams already set, the Detroit Tigers will battle the Oakland A’s this evening in a winner take all Game 5.
According to MLB.com on Oct. 10 the big game will take place tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST. Tigers fans are hoping to have another dramatic series win vs. the A’s, a team they have knocked out of the postseason frequently.
Back in 2006, Magglio Ordonez hit a walk off home run to send the Tigers to the World Series off Oakland’s Huston Street. Last season the Tigers knocked off the A’s in the ALDS in Game 5 in Oakland – with Justin Verlander on the mound.
Can lightning strike for the third time?
Las Vegas odds makers have this game at a dead heat. Both pitchers are listed as even money (-110) with the over/under number set at 7.
So who wins Game 5?
It will come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. Can 23 year-old Sonny Gray take down Justin Verlander, the 2011 AL Cy Young Award winner and AL Most Valuable Player Award winner one more time? Will the Tigers bats finally come back to life, like in Game 4?
