Tiger Woods can’t seem to break free from his infidelity scandal -- reminders of his multiple mistresses keep popping up everywhere he turns.
The most recent reminder of the infidelity scandal which led to Tiger Woods’ divorce is linked to a product from EA, one of the few sponsors with whom Tiger still has a relationship.
Electronic Arts (EA) is the producer and distributor of a series of video games under the title Tiger Woods PGA Tour.
Topless Female Golfer Suddenly Appears
Jo Eley, a British woman who’s a big fan of the video golf game Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, says she spent a great deal of time using face-mapping technology to create a custom avatar that looks like herself.
But she was shocked to find that her character suddenly and randomly started teeing off topless. Her avatar was wearing only white short shorts, but was completely bare above the waist.
Eley told the British newspaper The Sun that she and her golfing partner, Nathan Oliver, couldn’t stop laughing, adding that, “It could have been worse. She looks quite good and has bigger boobs than me.”
But now she says, “I can’t get rid of it. “
How the Glitch in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour Might Have Occurred
Eley believes a programmer might have put the secret strip tease in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 as a prank, in the wake of the Tiger Woods infidelity scandal which began in 2009. (NOTE: This version of the game was released after the scandal.)
It’s a well-known fact that people love hacking video games.
However, since there have been no other reports of similar “nude female golfer “ glitches, EA implies in its official statement that Jo Eley might have hacked the video game herself.
EA’s official statement reads, in part, as follows:
We have extensively investigated and have determined that this situation is not possible through a retail copy of the game. The player model is clearly modified as a result of hacking.
Company officials feel that the nudity in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is the work of an independent hacker, and that there is no way that this could have been a part of their release.
Tiger Woods Kicked Off the Cover of His Own Video Game
Tiger Woods has appeared on the cover of the best-selling golf video game Tiger Woods PGA Tour since 1999.
However, in last year’s release, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (which was released after Tiger’s infidelity scandal), Tiger shared the cover with Irish rookie Rory McIlroy.
This year, however, EA has removed Tiger's picture from the video golf game which bears his name, and he has been replaced by a yellow flag.
According to EA, the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, scheduled for release next month, will carry a picture of the iconic yellow flag from The Masters golf course in Augusta, Georgia.
But Tiger’s picture will appear on the Collector's Edition of the game, which will cost $10 more.
Consider how far Tiger Woods has fallen as a result of his multiple extramarital affairs. The infidelity scandal continues to haunt him, over a year after the fact.
It’s a sad day when a golfing great like Tiger Woods gets kicked off the cover of his own video game.
