Tiger Woods update: Elin Nordegren could score half Tiger's fortune in divorce (video)
Elin Nordegren could score as much as half of Tiger Woods' $600 million net worth in a divorce, says celebrity justice reporter Jane Velez-Mitchell.
Velez-Mitchell appeared on The View's "Day of Hot Topics" Monday to discuss the potential boon Elin Nordegren could score in the Tiger Woods divorce thanks to her newly hired attorney, the legendary Sorrell Trope. Jane Velez-Mitchell explained the legal tactics Elin Nordegren has likely been advised on in order for her to score big in the Tiger Woods divorce settlement.
"This guy [Sorrell Trope] is the premiere divorce guy in Hollywood," said Velez-Mitchell as The View shrews drooled over the latest Tiger Woods morsels. This is the guy who's represented so many celebrities over so many decades, and he's the one who can open the 'vault door'. There is so much money at stake here. $600 is his net worth, and if she really plays her cards right, even though there is a pre-nup, she could possibly get half of that, and I have to say, money is at the heart of this case because he [Tiger Woods] turned himself into a product."

Velez-Mitchell also asserted that Elin Nordegren would likely move in to Tiger Woods' California mansion to establish residency and qualify for California's 50-50 divorce laws.
Elin Nordegren's divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope has handled such famous celebrity divorces as those of Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage, Rod Steiger and Cary Grant.
