In Today’s Tiger Woods update, we are taking a closer look at a possible divorce settlement between Tiger and Elin and recent reports that Tiger told one of his mistresses that his marriage was nothing more than a façade.

As the nation wonders how the scandal will impact Tiger’s empire financially, the Swiss watch making company ‘TAG Heuer’ announced they are cutting ties with Tiger. To date, Tiger has lost his contracts with TAG Heuer and Accenture and Gatorade has phased out the Tiger Focus Gatorade drink, stating that the decision was made prior to the scandal. Gillette has ceased airing commercials featuring Tiger stating that the pro-golfer requested privacy in his December 11, 2009 statement and they plan to oblige.

Meanwhile, tabloid publications report that Tiger is doing everything in his power to save his marriage, while Elin is 100% going through with a divorce. Reports by the National Enquirer state that Tiger has been paying off his mistresses in exchange for silence; some of the reports cite figures as high as $20,000 monthly payments.

Sources have stated that Tiger is deeply afraid that Elin will take the couple’s two children, Sam and Charlie and move to Sweden. Should Elin plan a move out of the country, however, Tiger would have legal recourse to prevent such an act from transpiring. There is no doubt, however, that media sources report that Tiger and Elin are only steps away from divorce.

Alexis Tereszcuk from Radar Online explained the claim that Tiger Woods’ marriage was a façade. Alexis stated that Tiger told one of his mistresses that the marriage was a sham. ” He absolutely told her that he only did it for publicity, that it was a sham, he was only doing it to maintain his family man image and that that was not the real reason that he got married. It wasn`t for love, it was because he had an image to portray. And as you can see, he has not maintained that image by having affairs with all these other women. He definitely does not have that solid reputation any longer.” Alexis said in an on-air interview.

How much Elin would get in a divorce settlement depends upon where the divorce is filed. The couple lived in California during the early part of their marriage and some reports state that due to California’s community property laws, she intends to file there. Whether she files in California or Florida one thing is certain: the fight for the divorce settlement may become the largest divorce battle in American history.
