Tiger Woods update: Did sex scandal win him Athlete of the Decade title?
The View biddies kept the Tiger Woods sex scandal update party jamming with a "Hot Topics" discussion of the Associated Press naming Tiger Woods "Athlete of the Decade". With more than half of the AP votes for "Athlete of the Decade" being cast after the Tiger Woods sex scandal broke, some fans are wondering whether the constant Tiger Woods scandal updates actually contributed to the golfer earning the "Athlete of the Decade" title.
"I guess the question people are asking is, is that OK?" asked The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg on Thursday morning's broadcast.
Not only is it okay, it seems that the Tiger Woods mistress sex scandal hasn't affected Tiger Woods' image in the sports community at all. With male domination in the sports writing industry and the boon that the Tiger Woods sex scandal has created for both online and print writers, it seems that the AP "Athlete of the Decade" committee saw the whole situation as even more evidence that Tiger Woods is a superstar. And, of course, a "player" in every sense of the word.
The View conservative talkbox Elisabeth Hasselbeck squawked: "Look, and this doesn't mean you have to like the person. It doesn't mean you have to love and,....and respect the man for his personal, his personal choices but I think that you do in a way have to separate it. You don't have to like what they've done."
Co-host Joy Behar put it more artfully: "You have to separate the art from the artist and the club from the man," and then added: "Golf club".
Mother hen Barbara Walters weighed in on the public's fascination with the constant Tiger Woods mistress scandal updates: "You know, whenever we have a politician who's been very sanctimonious and he or she (it's usually he) fails, there is a little--there's more interest than when someone's kinda,...(snaps her fingers)...in the know.."
The View ladies have now been talking about Tiger Woods sex scandal updates for nearly a full three weeks with no end in sight.
