Tiger Woods' TV future with Gillette still in question

Tiger Woods has not been officially dropped as a sponsor yet by Gillette or parent company Procter & Gamble; however, it still doesn't look like the golf superstar will appear in a TV or print advertisement anytime soon.

In a new interview with the Associated Press, P&G chairman Bob McDonald made his current stance on Tiger clear: "he doesn't need to be distracted by us using his advertising, and we don't need the distraction of us using the advertising, either." As for the golfer's potential future with the company, McDonald wouldn't say much other than that they've "got lots of great spokespeople."

Gillette frequently uses athletes as spokespeople, since the physical nature of their sport makes them a perfect fit with their target male demographic. Away from Woods, the company is also endorsed by tennis star Roger Federer. They use a variety of other stars for local markets based on popularity.

Tiger Woods has lost a number of sponsors (such as AT&T and Accenture) since the cheating scandal broke in November; as a direct result of this, his TV time has decreased dramatically outside of headline news shows such as "Entertainment Tonight."

Do you think that Tiger Woods will ever be put on TV by Gillette again? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
