Tiger Woods spotted in Hattiesburg, MS near rehab facility; Woods scandal appears to be lifting. Rumors that Tiger Woods checked himself into a drug rehab program have been around for months, and there have been rumors that Woods has been seen all over the world. And now, after months of speculation a named witness spotted Woods in Hattiesburg, MS.
Rumors surfaced earlier in the week that Woods checked into the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services center in Hattiesburg. And now a student who lives in the area, Adrian Smith has come forward and said he saw Woods at the airport last Monday, according to a report from the National Ledger on Sunday.
Adrian Smith, 19, said: “100%” saw him arriving at the municipal airport of Hattiesburg. Smith said Woods was wearing a black baseball hat, black jacket and jeans and was near the airport’s entrance at 10 pm Monday. Smith said Woods got into the driver’s side of a white SUV that was parked curbside. “I know it was him 100%.”
“He didn’t look happy or sad, just straight,” Smith added. “He looked around and got in the driver’s seat. “He didn’t seem to be in a hurry. He just walked around the car and got it. He sat there for a few seconds then just drove off. His luggage was already in the car.”
Hattiesburg, Mississippi has approximately 50,000 residents and is 90 miles south of Jackson and about 120 miles north of New Orleans. The National Ledger also reported that in the last week there has been a security and police increase at the rehab facility.
The rehab program takes six weeks to complete. The scandal surrounding Tiger Woods appears to be lifting, and his name appears less often in the media.
Tiger Woods has been under intense media focus since the Thanksgiving car crash. A few days before Thanksgiving, the National Enquirer released a story about an alleged affair of Tiger Woods and Rachel Uchitel, and the story didn’t get much fan attention until after Woods crashed his car the day after Thanksgiving. Then multiple stories of Tiger Woods alleged affairs appeared and women came out with statements.
Tiger Woods favorability rating has been cut nearly in half over the past six weeks. It was at 85% before the Thanksgiving car crash and has dropped to 34%, according to a CNN poll. For more on the poll findings, click here.

Tiger Woods had his third knee surgery in Park City, Utah on April 15, 2008, and took two months off. He was determined to play in the US Open and win...which he did on June 14, 2008, much to everyone's amazement less than two months after his knee surgery. He was in pain during the US Open, as shown in this Associated Press photo. After the US Open, Tiger Woods took additional time off to let his knee heal.
