Tiger Woods shoots TV commercial for EA Sports without incident

Golf star Tiger Woods is returning to TV -- but it's not for golf. The star athlete, according to a report by People Magazine, spent Tuesday shooting a new commercial for his licensed golf game by EA Sports. The gaming company is one of the few sponsors who has actually stood by Tiger over the past few months, and now they are getting set to release the next game with his name.

An on-looker told the publication that Tiger "was upbeat throughout the day-long shoot. You could tell he was really enjoying the creative focus of the commercial." The commercial is night-and-day when compared to the super-serious ad Tiger did with Nike earlier this year.

So is this a smart move by EA? The company is taking a gamble that the consumers who purchase the game do so mostly for the fun factor and won't be swayed away by a man such as Tiger on the cover. In addition, the only other significant name in golf is Phil Mickelson, and apparently they seem to believe that he wouldn't sell as many copies.
