Tiger Woods return to golf the Masters, and hiding out at Jim Dolan’s house on Long Island? Many in the golfing industry are speculating on Tiger Woods return to golf and the Masters may be the tournament that brings him back.
The Masters is held April 8-11 this year and Woods has a personal lifetime golf to beat Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 championship titles. The Masters would bring Woods one step further and if he chooses not to play in it, then it would leave him one step behind, and he won’t be able to make that up, according to a report Wednesday from the Boston Herald.
The Boston Herald mentions two tournaments that Woods could show up for:
February 16-21 - WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona
March 11-14 – the World Golf Championships-CA Championship in Florida
The New York Post reported Wednesday morning that a source said that Tiger Woods has been staying at Jim Dolan’s guest house on Long Island for the last month and seeing a therapist that comes to the house. The source said that Elin recently took one of Dolan’s jets from Switzerland to Florida last week.
Jim Dolan owns cablevision and Madison Square Garden. The source said that Dolan offered his guest house to Woods after the thanksgiving car crash.
Americans love a come back story, and Woods could position himself nicely for one depending on what he has been up to. If he has been in therapy and trying to work on himself, and makes a public statement about it, then he could be posed for an incredible come back.
The source told the New York Post that Woods was very upset when he arrived and looked as though he had been crying. An MSG spokesperson has denied that Woods is staying in Dolan’s guesthouse.
Tiger Woods has been under intense media focus since the Thanksgiving car crash. A few days before Thanksgiving, the National Enquirer released a story about an alleged affair of Tiger Woods and Rachel Uchitel, and the story didn’t get much fan attention until after Woods crashed his car the day after Thanksgiving. Then multiple stories of Tiger Woods alleged affairs appeared and women came out with statements.
Tiger Woods favorability rating has been cut nearly in half over the past three weeks. It was at 85% before the Thanksgiving car crash and has dropped to 34%, according to a CNN poll. For more on the poll findings, click here.
