Tiger Woods is on the hunt to take back his No.1 ranking in the official world golf rankings. It’s been 872 days since the golfer has held that title, according to a report by USA Today on Thursday, March 21. Tiger has also been courting the press with his official announcement this week that he’s dating Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. She’s making headlines today with a new photo cover spread for ESPN magazine in which she imitates the infamous leg-crossing scene by actress Sharon Stone in “Basic Instinct”.
Tiger Woods needs a win this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in order to retake his claim as the No.1 golfer in the world. He’s won this event seven times in the past.
Tiger has a helping hand by virtue of current No.1 Rory McIlroy’s absence. Of course there are other challengers who’d like to block his climb.
Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Brandt Snedeker are on the short list of names who may stop Woods in his path back to the top. Snedeker was golf's hottest player before a rib injury sidelined him five weeks ago, and he is back this week.
While Tiger is busy teeing off, his newly announced girlfriend, 28 year-old Lindsey Vonn, is capturing headlines for her “scandalous” photo cover today.
Vonn recaptures the image of actress Sharon Stone, seated in a skin tight white mini-dress, as she’s being interrogated by police in the iconic movie “Basic Instinct”. She's provocatively photographed for her new ESPN magazine cover.
“Hey this is Lindsey Vonn and we are in Vail, Colorado and we are shooting a scene from Basic Instinct and I am Sharon Stone”, Vonn says to the camera.

This was the infamous line from the movie in which Sharon Stone uncrosses her legs and exposes her nether parts. The Mirror mused that the picture was likely the reason the pro-skier caught Tiger’s eye.
