Tiger Woods book to be released in the spring is bad timing. Tiger Woods 2001 book, How I Play Golf is being released on audio in the spring. Woods recorded the book several months before the infamous car crash after Thanksgiving.

Woods shares the “psychological practices he uses daily to keep his game in top shape and help him transcend all the ups and downs of golf,” according to a description in Hachette Audio’s spring-summer 2010 catalog, which arrived in bookstores and to journalists over the weekend.

The publisher told the NY Times that when they began the project, they had no idea that Tiger Woods would be famous for anything else other than golf. It is bad timing for the Woods name to be connected with anything right now, including a book about golf. Woods has been dropped by several sponsors and ads with his name have been cut back by other sponsors.

Tiger Woods favorability rating has been cut nearly in half over the past three weeks. It was at 85% before the Thanksgiving car crash and has dropped to 34%, according to a CNN poll. For more on the poll findings, click here.

Last week, the NY Post reported a rumor that Woods may still be having an affair with Rachel Uchitel, the first woman who reportedly had an affair with Woods. Both have been in Palm Beach, Florida. For more on that story, click here.

Tiger Woods has been under intense media focus for the past three weeks. A few days before Thanksgiving, the National Enquirer released a story about an alleged affair of Tiger Woods and Rachel Uchitel, and the story didn’t get much fan attention until after Woods crashed his car the day after Thanksgiving. Then multiple stories of Tiger Woods alleged affairs appeared and women came out with statements.

He was in pain during the US Open, as shown in this Associated Press photo. After the US Open, Tiger Woods took additional time off to let his knee heal.
