Tiger Woods press conference scheduling 'seflish', says golf pro. Photo/AP
Tiger Woods' press conference scheduling is said to "selfish" according to golf pro Ernie Els and others. The scheduled press conference is set for Friday morning at 11 a.m. EST and Tiger Woods' agent says he'll be discussing "making amends" with sponsors and fans, alike.
Yet, Woods and his agent ironically scheduled the press conference during the Accenture Golf Tournament - A golf contest in which the sponsor and Woods have a previous relationship. Accenture was one of the first sponsors to drop Tiger after the publicity bomb of his many extramarital affairs and that has people wondering if Tiger's team has other motives.
"It's selfish," said Els, former U.S. Open and British Open champ said to Golfweek mag.
"You can write that. I feel sorry for the sponsor. Mondays are a good day to make statements, not Friday. This takes a lot away from the golf tournament."
But Woods' agent says what Tiger has to say can't wait. "There is a very good reason [to do it Friday]", says Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg. "And not do it next week," he added, while also suggesting the scheduling of Friday's press conference was anything but "selfish" and just "a matter of timing".
Steinberg also downplayed the conference describing the meetup as a discussion among "...friends, colleagues and close associates" mentioning Woods will simply state his apology for the past and plans for the future.
"He wants to begin the process of making amends and that's what he's going to discuss," Steinberg said in an e-mail to the media. But while fans just want to hear what he has to say, experts and golf professionals like Els say Tiger must be careful now in how he says things, noting he's being watched.
So even though Tiger Woods' former sponsor Accenture may have dubbed him "no longer the right representative" of the company, Tiger Woods has still found a way to pop up during the Arizona Match Play this weekend.

Hahahahahaha......
I am glad that Tiger Woods is breaking his silence and coming public.
Tiger is not the first famous person to make a public statement without taking questions from the media. The media is outraged because all they want is to continue making hash of Tiger and his family for profit. It is time that Tiger and his family move on with their life and for the media to get off their back!
