While neither Tiger Woods nor his wife Elin Nordegren need introducing after the last three weeks worth of constant character demolishing news from all forms of media throughout the world, the news of Tigers alleged extra marital affairs has been forced into the minds of many of his loyal fan base.  Tiger and his wife Elin, have turned to travel in order to take some time to try and find some kind of common grounds to start on, or possibly to finish on.

Regardless of what you or I might think of the ongoing scandalous reports, it brings to light the fact that no matter how damaged a relationship is that there are forms of travel that can certainly help get your relationship moving in the right direction.

Almost everyone knows what it is like to endure heartbreak, and as we get older and enter into relationships that are worth hanging onto, we are willing to go further and do more to improve them or fix them when times get tough. The first and most important step is deciding to make it work. While most of us do not have an unlimited budget to work from, there are still several options that allow every day people to find ways to use travel to repair damages done to a worth while relationship.

From romantic getaways that can help to rekindle the magic in your life, to intense therapy sessions and events that will help you to regain the trust in a relationship, is a “marriage retreat” or “relationship retreat” right for you?

Romantic getaway ideas:
Nothing says romance like spending time in, on or around the water.
Scuba diving  allows couples to enjoy unusual   and beautiful sights and sounds that are thought provoking and take you away from the everyday grind.  Whether you choose to use an air apparatus, or opt for snorkeling, the trust and value of witnessing the under sea world the experience will live within you for a lifetime.
For those that prefer to stay in drier conditions, whale watching is a great way to witness something majestic in a beautiful and romantic setting. Most whale watching excursions are set on cruises or boating trips, giving you and your partner the time to enjoy the beauty of the ocean, while talking and communicating in a soothing environment.
Another suggestion, is sailing. Though sailing can be hard work, It is more than worth it. If you do not have the resources (licence or certificates) to charter your own sailboat, there are captains for hire that will assist in making your sailing trip the ultimate experience. Sailing excursions for a small/private group, or larger groups can be booked for anywhere from a few hours up to several weeks. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the sights, sounds and smells will energize everything about what and who you want to become. Because of the demands that sailing require, the bond that you will form during this time is based on respect, communication and helps to rebuild trust if it is broken.

Traveling to solve bigger problems:
Unfaithfulness typically brings in brandishes of disarray, wrath, sorrow, dread, inquiries, defensiveness, clinical depression, doubt about the time to come, and a doubtfulness on how to contribute guidance to the marriage. Personalized marriage retreats may assist you to move ahead with these feelings, realize an action and guidance towards mending and recuperation, distinguish and acquire encouraging tools, and clear up regions for each spouse to work on. Of course every relationship has specific needs, and couples desires and objectives by participating will vary.  I can recommend "Marriage Boot Camp"- a web site that introduces a new style of marriage retreat, where couples go to face the most difficult and challenging aspects of relationship troubles. This user friendly web site offers many different resources including financial sponsorships for those couples who believe they can not attend,  or afford to attend. It is a "one stop and shop" web site that can help you through the most difficult of times.

With all due respect, this marriage is a goner. Tiger needs help that a trip together won't cure, but the idea of travel to bring a couple closer together is an excellent one, indeed! You've offered great ways to spend time together!

Wish everyone would leave them alone.

Interesting concept, Jenn. I agree with both comments here, but the idea you present is a good one. I love the sailing photo...very romantic.

It'd be nice for them to get away and hide for a while, no doubt..

    Cheers...

I've learned so much from reading this excellent article. Your thoughtful advice can really do a lot of good. I believe in forgiveness and redemption, but as to Tiger and Elin, I think the betrayals are too deep to heal. Of course, I'm not in their skin, so who knows?

I think travel is a great time to spend time with each other away from many other demands. Hope they can work it out.
