“Saved By The Bell” alum Tiffani Thiessen got a huge surprise on the “Today” Show on Feb. 5.
Dennis Dennis Haskins, the former principal (Mr. Belding) from “Saved By The Bell” joined her on the “Today” Show set, according to a Feb. 5 Huffington Post report.
Thiessen who currently stars on the hit USA show, “White Collar” with Matt Bomer was prepping to play a TV trivia show with anchors Natalie Morales, Al Roker and Willie Geist when Haskins walked on to the set with his signature greeting.
For viewers who were watching the show, Thiessen looked visibly shocked and appeared uncomfortable. According to the Huffington Post, the “White Collar” star has been avoiding a “Saved By The Bell” reunion for years. Thiessen stayed professional and the game went off without a hitch. Haskins took over game show hosting duties from Al Roker who then joined Geist’s team to play against Thiessen and Morales’ team.
Haskins told the “Today” Show that the real reason a reunion has not happened yet is timing and finding common ground. “It’s not like something is holding it up -– I think it’s a matter of timing and finding something that everyone wants to do,” he said. “There’s some issues with Dustin [Diamond]. He wrote a book that wasn’t real positive.”
